Money Clip Hopi Native American Sterling Silver Bear Money Clip

Keep your money secure and safe while expressing your appreciation of Native American jewelry. What makes this money clip unique is that the Spider designed top is domed, rather than the usual flat money clip.  This Bear money clip was handcrafted by Hopi artist, Joe Josytewa.

To create this money clip, Joe Josytewa used skills that have been handed down through many generations in a process called Hopi Overlay, that involves using two layers of sterling silver. The bottom layer is recessed, etched and oxidized to give it that characteristic textured, blackened background that Hopi jewelry is known for. The second layer is the detailed Badger Bear Claw design that was created with small jeweler’s hand saws and chisels. The beautifully polished top layer is bonded to the bottom layer in a complex soldering process that creates the contrast between the two layers. This Hopi overlay process is tedious and requires a steady hand. Hopi designs usually include cultural symbols that include animals, nature or clan symbols that are considered religious or secular in meaning. The Bear is a symbol strength, introspection, the power within and leadership.

For easily handling and durability, the lower portion of the money clip is made of stainless steel.

This money clip makes a great gift for any man.

Native American Navajo Dry Creek Turquoise Sterling Silver Earrings, Handcrafted

These traditional Navajo Native American dangle drop earrings feature a unique stone, Dry Creek Turquoise, set in a handcrafted, detailed, sterling silver setting. The elegant, signed earrings are an example of Southwest jewelry that makes the perfect gift for that special woman in your life. These earrings will look great with all hair lengths and skin tones.

Dry Creek Turquoise is pale, whitish-blue in color with very little matrix. This pale color results when there is the lack of heavy metals during formation, which is a rare occurrence. Native American Navajo Spiny Oyster Sterling Silver Pendant Signed Lester James

This exclusive pendant is truly remarkable in its design, texture, style, craftsmanship and color!  Well-known Navajo Native American lapidary artist, Lester James, has used vibrant orange spiny oyster as the featured stone set in an abundantly detailed sterling silver setting.  The spiny oyster stone is handcrafted in a cobblestone technique that tightly sets each stone against the adjacent stones in a perpendicular or angular pattern.  To achieve this unique setting, each stone must be accurately measured, cut and individually rounded or beveled along its edges before being placed in the mosaic setting.  The Cobblestone inlay technique is tedious, difficult and time-consuming stone work but Lester has mastered this technique perfectly with this meticulous, stunning pendant.  The sterling silver setting has been expertly hand-tooled with hand-twisted sterling silver rope, hand carvings and cut outs.
