Navajo Native American silversmith, Calvin Peterson, has handmade this Kokopelli ring with polished sterling silver, remarkable style, precise cuttings and balance. Calvin created this ring through a process called "Overlay" which involves two layers of silver. This tedious process requires patience and traditional skills in order to create the design, oxidize the silver and a complex soldering process that bonds the two layers together. This process creates the blackened background and the Kokopelli design which is an ancient symbol seen throughout the southwest.
Kokopelli still represents a positive life force. His message can be anything that brings you happiness. Keeping his likeness near you and those you love can create harmony and centering in an otherwise frustrating world.
